The fuel and oxygen are regulated by a pressure regulator. The red hose is for fuel and the green is for the oxygen. On top of welding and cutting gas torches, there are also injector torches and rose bud torches. An injector torch is just your standard oxy fuel torch for regular uses. The rose bud torch is generally used to shape metals like bending, stretching and other formations.

Acetylene  is the primary fuel for oxy-fuel welding and is the fuel of choice for repair work and general cutting and welding. Oxy-gasoline torches use gasoline as a fuel where bottled gas fuel is not available. Hydrogen is used for underwater cutting. Some other fuel sources include MAPP Gases, Propane, Butane, and Propylene.

Welding goggles should be worn at all times to protect the eyes against glare and flying sparks. Care must be taken not to cut or burn the hoses that carry the oxygen or fuel. Torches should only be lighted with a striker and not with matches or a lighter. And always have your fire extinguisher handy.
